As the Assistant to the County Administrator, you will have similar authority as a City Manager, while reporting to the County Administrator/Assistant County Administrator for areas in the unincorporated County. Under limited supervision, you will provide strategic direction and help facilitate and implement community plans, projects, programs and promote “capacity building” at the community level, while working with all county departments.
Work requires coordinating with various departments to ensure projects and programs are scheduled and implemented in a timely manner. Work is performed with considerable independent judgment based on experience in developing courses of action and recommendations. Work is reviewed by the County Administrator through conferences, reports, and observation of results obtained. The incumbent is required to establish and maintain highly essential and positive communication and working relationships with officials, the public and the organizations workforce. The incumbent exercises considerable independent judgment and initiative with carrying out the daily operations of managing a local geographic area of the County on behalf of the County Administrator’s Office. The incumbent reports to the County Administrator or designee.
The Assistant to the County Administrator (Unincorporated) is located at: 315 Court Street, Clearwater, FL 33756. Work Schedule: Monday – Friday; 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; various days and hours based on meetings.

What Do You Need
Education - degree in business, public administration, construction management, project management, intergovernmental affairs, or a related field.
Experience - progressively responsible professional administrative government project management experience, or a related field that includes supervisory or management experience.
