Perform advanced-level technical and analytical work in the administration and coordination of business systems, operations, data analysis, and system support for the department. Employees in this class are responsible for understanding and managing mission-critical data, systems, and programs. Duties may include preparation and administration of data and reports, system support and maintenance, training, and special projects. Duties include a range of tasks supporting the department’s system applications and data. Work requires the exercise of considerable independent judgment and an ability to identify and resolve major application and data problems.

*Must be able to pass and maintain a CJIS Level 2 background check*

This position Business Systems Analyst position is located at:  12490 Ulmerton Road, Largo, FL or 10750 Ulmerton Rd., Largo, FL.  Work Schedule:  Monday – Friday; 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

What Will You Do

 

  • Provides technical support for various software applications and acts as an administrator to train users, resolve issues, and liaison data.  
  • Coordinates access problems for internal or external users.
  • Performs data analysis to support system upgrades and troubleshoot system abnormalities. 
  • Performs legal and process research in support of system upgrades. 
  • Writes, reviews, or executes testing, change and implementation plans for new or established systems. 
  • Participates in problem resolution projects, meetings, and teams to address mission-critical system issues.
  • Prepares and justifies recommendations for new systems and procedures or changes to existing systems.
  • Creates reports, compiles data, and builds visuals to convey information.
  • Assists in reviewing, maintaining, and updating the web pages.
  • Develops training opportunities and programs related to the systems.
  • Update and maintain data within various department systems. 
  • Monitors systems and user performance and recommend changes to improve efficiency. 
  • Supports special projects and research on administrative matters for management.
  • Performs other related job duties as assigned. 
  • Perform other related job duties as assigned.
  • Assignment to work a variety of work schedules including compulsory work periods in special, emergency, and/or disaster situations.
  • Other knowledge, skills, abilities, and credentials required for a specific position.

 

What Do You Need

 

Experience:  Technical and professional experience in information technology in the assigned subject matter tasks that includes customer service and one (1) year of team leadership or supervision in the assigned subject matter tasks

 

Degree:  Information technology, computer science, computer technology, or related field.

 

  • 6+ years’ experience as described above; or

  • Associate’s degree and 4+ years of experience as described above; or

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of experience as described above; or

  • Master's or higher-level degree.

  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.

 

Highly Desirable

 

  • Experience working with Electronic Patient Care Reports data.

  • Experience working with Fire Rescue or Emergency Medical Services.

  • Experience working with First Watch application.
