Kitchen Design Specialist

Houston, TX/ Full-time

Your responsibilities

 

Reporting to the Experience & Design Center (EDC) Manager, we are seeking an experienced professional responsible for producing floor plans and renderings from concept sketches in the specification of Gaggenau, Thermador and Bosch home appliances at the EDC location of BSH Home appliances. Clients will include design professionals, architects, developers, marketing firm representatives, retailers as well as individual retail customers. The position requires working knowledge of architectural drawings, CAD files, 3D drawings and the ability to create floor plans that complement BSH brands. In addition to technical & design knowledge this is a sales position requiring positive interaction with demanding clients to create a desire for BSH products to be the solution for their project needs. Designs and project manages all construction projects at the local EDC.

 

 

·       Provides exceptional service to meet the needs of the EDC clients and visitors

·       Meets with clients and provides solutions to their appliance specification needs

·       Plans the functional aspect and the visual look of kitchen spaces

·       Interacts with clients, discusses the detail of the project, and draws the plan according to client’s needs

·       Creates detailed lists of appliances for clients based on their project needs

·       Works within the whole aspect of the kitchen (color, lighting, cabinets, and floor coverings to create an appliance solution that complements the project)

·       Assists in the execution of trade specific events to maintain and enhance product knowledge and market awareness to drive sales results

·       Supports outreach to the architecture and design community to create brand and product awareness

·       Writes specifications as assigned, CAD drawings, blueprints, 3D, hand drawings that illustrates detailed plans in conjunction with the client's project team to maximize the look and functionality of BSH appliance packages

·       Understands and reviews blueprints, building and fire codes, and latest design and trend in the kitchen industry

·       Works with developers and architects to provide a cost effective solution using the appropriate brand of BSH Home Appliances for their projects

·       Prepares brand and product presentations to all levels of BSH and industry partners

·       Works with Product Marketing and Engineering to realize design concepts

·       Presents designs concepts in a convincing manner

·       Works with external model makers to create design prototypes

·       Works collaboratively with EDC manager in the management and maintenance of showroom and including new display and EDC improvement projects; designs the functional and visual aspect of all vignettes in the EDC

·       Participates in on-going product knowledge and training

·       Advises and collaborates with EDC team and brand on design, features, and functionality of appliances

·       Responds with flexibility and urgency to shifting priorities

·       Assists Manager with a variety of reporting, as needed

·       Other duties as assigned

Your profile

·       Bachelor’s degree (Kitchen Design or related) – Required

·       3-5 Years of Experience (Kitchen Design (CKD)) – Required

·       Certified Kitchen Designer (CKD)

·       Familiar with commercial and residential design

·       Field of household and kitchen environment knowledge is preferred

·       Excellent sales skills and working knowledge of all BSH brands and their relationship to competitive brands available in the appliance industry

·       Good understanding of Interface Design and capable of making detailed designs

·       Knowledge of construction and manufacturing standards with connection to design

·       Proven track record of ability to excel in attaining maximum sales results through successful interaction with established customers and the development of new prospects

·       Extensive knowledge of the studio market, cabinet manufactures, custom cabinets and the cabinet industry in general

·       Extensive computer knowledge of graphic, CAD software, design principles, 3D program, ability to hand draw designs

·       Strong knowledge on building codes and computer aided design experience

·       Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

·       Proficient with all Microsoft Office products

·       Strong attention to detail skills and time management skills

·       Ability to work in a team

·       Excellent interpersonal skills

·       Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to speak to large groups and executives

·       Requires minimal supervision

·       Knowledge of foreign languages a plus

·       Must demonstrate good judgement and discretion when exposed to confidential information

·       Occasional travel local and nationally

·       Travel Percentage – 10%

Your Pay & Benefits

The pay range posted for this position is based on the location noted in the posting title. Exact compensation offered may vary based on your specific skillset and work location. If the position is bonus or incentive eligible then the payments range from 0% to 200% of target with details laid out within the plan document.
