Prod Systems Engineer III

New Bern, NC / Full-time

Your responsibilities

 

Production Systems Engineer III is responsible for teaching and training the tools and methods of the BSH Production Systems (BPS). The Production System Engineer III leads, and develops others to lead, continuous improvement activities involving management, operators, vendors, and other relevant parties in order to achieve business objectives. He/she is a sparring partner for the Site BPS Manager for opportunities to improve processes and help support lean production.

 

 

·         Directly support, and mentor others to support, operations through problem solving, continuous improvement activities, and development of processes

·         Deploy RNA and GPD standard tools and templates for shop floor display and tracking

·         Collaborate with management team to develop and maintain value stream target states, and resulting long term project strategy for the factory in conjunction with factory master planning

·         Support organization in developing Key Performance Indicator (KPI) tree(s)

·         Identifying the areas/topics in the factory (direct/indirect areas) where lean improvement activities are needed, and lead cross functional teams in order to realize sustainable improvements

·         Training the organization in lean methods, elements and principles based on BSH BPS standards

·         Lead/organize BPS assessments and maturity projects

·         Increase maturity of Production System processes for the Site New Bern location through observation and evaluation of the current state of manufacturing, logistics, and indirect systems, as well as processes and design and implementation of future state.

·         Lead, and train others to lead, System Continuous Improvement (System CIP) Workshops and Projects

·         Transitioning of System CIP projects to Point CIP to day to day management

·         Implement robust systems to bring the factory to a benchmark level

·         Implement solutions and best practices, partnering with associates across all functions and levels

·         Incorporating best practices and lessons learned internally and through interactions with external groups with respect to BPS implementation

·         Coordinate participation of LaFollette associates in CIP events at other factories, as well as the participation of external associates in SNb activities (Jishuken)

·         Facilitating workshops and/or training sessions related to BPS topics such as production and administrative Value Stream Design, TPM, and other lean improvements.

Your profile

·         Bachelor’s degree (Engineering / Industrial Technology) – Required

·         Certification (Six Sigma Black Belt) – Preferred

·         7-10 Years of Experience (Manufacturing Experience) – Required

·         3-5 Years of Experience (LEAN Manufcaturing Exposure in Business Environment) – Required

·         Project Management skills

·         Strong team leader skills

·         Strong presentation skills

·         Strong problem solving skills and creative development competency – ability to quickly develop and recommend solutions, and implement action plans.

·         Ability to work independently and in teams with associates across all levels and functions

·         Intercultural awareness and sensitivity

·         Excellent spoken and written communication skills (ability to “sell” an idea)

·         Capable of multi-tasking, setting priorities, and working under pressure

·         Lean methods, principles and elements expert(i.e. value stream mapping and design)

·         Microsoft office products

·         Travel Percentage – 30%

Your Pay & Benefits

The pay range posted for this position is based on the location noted in the posting title. Exact compensation offered may vary based on your specific skillset and work location. If the position is bonus or incentive eligible then the payments range from 0% to 200% of target with details laid out within the plan document.
