Job Title: Executive-System Administration- CMDB

Location: India, Remote

 

What you will do:

 

  • Manage end-to-end configuration management system processes, including configuration data model, asset/configuration items maintenance, assets reconciliation, standard operating procedures, etc.
  • Modify/maintain CMDB data based on department requirements after quality checks.
  • Configure and maintain Device42 discovery scheduled jobs and troubleshoot discovery failures.
  • Develop and maintain logical data models, establish relationships, and measure KPIs to improve CMDB health.
  • Participate in IT service management process boards and build relationships with stakeholders to drive continuous improvement.
  • Take charge of significant configuration management projects and populate the CMDB with configuration items, attributes, and relations to ensure the project is completed.
  • Support software asset management by providing accurate and complete hardware inventory to SAM tooling and process.
  • Act as a single point of contact for audits requiring evidence from CMDB.
  • Conduct awareness sessions on CMDB and the discovery process for Acentra Health users.
  • A comprehensive understanding of Linux operating systems, including command-line tools, system files, boot process, run levels, disk management, RAID, LVM, AWS cloud infrastructure, and DevOps tools.
  • Configure and troubleshoot issues and manage network protocols, firewalls, load balancers, VPN tunnels, DNS, and DHCP servers.
  • Provide day-to-day network engineer support, perform preventive maintenance, and generate reports to support service level requirements.
  • Utilize network management applications to detect faults, identify performance metrics, and generate reports supporting specific service level requirements.
  • Solid understanding of security and system administration best practices.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

What you will need:

 

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in IT Configuration Management using Device42 Configuration Management Discovery Module.
  • Good understanding of Technical Configuration Items and ITIL Framework, with practical experience in applied Configuration Management concepts, governance, and practices.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field preferred.
  • Proficient in analyzing and troubleshooting skills and understanding all network topologies and routing protocols.
  • Preferred certifications include ITAM, ITIL V3 Foundation, ITIL Service Transition and Service Operations, and CCNA/RHEL/AWS Sysops/Solution Architect Associate (optional).
  • Excellent English language communication skills, both verbal and written, with a customer-centric and collaborative mindset.
  • Demonstrates autonomy within established procedures and practices, with good command of stakeholder management, judgment, and conflict resolution.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and developments in enterprise technology, with a good understanding of IT Service Management Processes.
  • Ability to manage relationships with senior stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • Good knowledge of Common Service Data Model (CSDM) V3.0.
  • Experience in AWS VPC, including transitive VPC, VGW, VPN, IPSEC, Security groups, Network ACL, and protocols such as IP, TCP, UDP, ICMP, NAT, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, IPsec, SSL, HTTP, SSH, SIP, RADIUS.
  • Proficient in managing and configuring Big-IP & APM cloud edition Appliances and Checkpoint Firewalls (R80.10, R80.20, R80.30, R80.40, and older versions).
  • Familiarity with monitoring solutions such as NAGIOS, Opmanager, solarwind, tcpdumps, and Wireshark tools.
