Palau Program Manager

POSITION SUMMARY - This position is based in Koror, Palau
The Palau Program Manager oversees conservation-related programs and projects. They manage a diverse set of activities and work to ensure that program outcomes and goals further Conservation International’s (CI’s) human development and conservation priorities as identified in the CI Palau Country Strategy. Duties include developing and implementing program/project and conservation strategies, project management, technical oversight, monitoring, and capacity building. They will ensure compliance with CI policies, program and funding agreements, and local requirements.
Specifically, the Program Manager will oversee the implementation of a new project funded by the New Zealand Government ManaakiFund, entitled “Strengthening climate resilience of communities and marine ecosystems in Palau through sustainable community-based aquaculture initiatives.” In this capacity, the Program Manager will lead on program delivery, monitoring, and reporting of the project. They work across CI to build strong relationships to advance program initiatives. They represent CI and work to build alliances with community and external stakeholders who are critical to program success.
The Program Manager supports the program’s financial well-being by playing a role in identifying program funding sources and developing and managing funding relationships with partners and prospects. They work with program and HQ staff on proposals and funding initiatives. This position does not manage staff. They work under general direction.
