Hamilton Island is the Whitsunday’s Premiere Island resort with 4 resort options, over 15 different dining and restaurant establishments, a championship golf course and a luxury Yacht Club. Our Resort Presentation department are the all about keeping our gardens lush, lawns manicured, plants growing and palms swaying in the gentle ocean breeze.  These are the men and women who thrive on making our gardens thrive, whose favourite colour is green and whose ideal day is spent outdoors talking to the plants and sharing their passion for nature. Without them we would be a dull place indeed.

We now have an opportunity for a qualified and experienced Gardener to join the team of 30 gardeners in presenting our beautiful resort at its very best.

Your role will be the envy of the island with a super roster that allows you plenty of time to enjoy the beautiful Whitsundays and all it has to offer.  Full time hours are  6:30am to 3pm Monday to Thursday and a lunch time finish on Fridays.

You will:

  • Undertake turf and garden maintenance and landscape construction
  • Apply routine pest management and plant nutrition programs
  • Operate landscape maintenance equipment in accordance with all Workplace Health and Safety procedures
  • Maintain the aesthetics of all landscape precincts to a high level of detail
  • Participate in propagation and other aspects of the nursery complete

About You

You will love nature and the outdoors, tropical plants will be your passion and you love to see them thrive.

You will also have:

  • Certificate I, II or III in Horticulture  and at least one year’s experience or a minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Open manual driver’s license
  • Irrigation knowledge is not essential but will impress us.
