Job Description:

The rapid growth of TDK’s product diversity and volume has resulted in the need for a Snr. Staff Foundry Engineering, who will play a critical role in the development and productization of new MEMS sensors.

Key areas of responsibility include:

§ Primary technical interface between foundry, internal design teams, and external customers for CMOS device/process/PDK(DR/Spice Model/layout)/IP/yield and reliability related issues

§ Support foundry tape-out activities

§ Working with the foundry to address gaps in design rules, device models, and reliability projections.

§ Assessment of device reliability based on use conditions and device SOA evaluations

§ Analysis of foundry WAT data to address yield/ reliability issues

§ Analysis of WS/FT and FA data (with internal teams) to address yield/ reliability issues

§ Assessment of reliability and product lifetime of design IP from foundry or third party

§ Foundry support for safe launch activities while ramping new products

§ Working with internal teams to jointly define device roadmap requirements

§ Benchmarking of foundry device offerings and analog capabilities and support business unit for foundry and technology selection

§ Transfer and bring up technologies including new processes and modules at additional external foundries

§ Work with design/engineering team to launch and validate test chips and technology development vehicles

Requirements:

§ Broad experience with semiconductor fabrication processes

§ Solid understanding of semiconductor devices, process, PDK

§ Solid knowledge of the analog mixed-signal device and design requirements

§ Experience with advanced bulk CMOS technology nodes (40nm and below)

§ Experience in CMOS device layout, and characterization 

§ Experience with foundry management and tape-out flows

§  BCD device/process/design rules development experience is a PLUS.

§ Ability to organize complicated data sets of diverse materials and products

§ Good data analysis skill(excel/VBA/JMP/python/etc.) and problem solving.

§ Experience with EDA tools(pcell/layout/DRC/LVS, and device/RO/simple circuit simulation is a plus).

§ Excellent written and oral communication skills with internal teams and external foundries

§ Ability to work in a fast-paced global multi-site environment

§ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

§ Proactive, self-driven, and highly motivated

Education & Experience:

§ Master/Ph.D. in EE, ME, Semiconductor Physics or related field with 7+ years’ experience in device/process/pdk technology development role.
