InvenSense’s vision of Sensing Everything™ targets the consumer electronics and industrial markets with integrated Motion and Sound solutions. Our solutions combine MEMS (micro electrical mechanical systems) sensors, such as accelerometers, gyroscopes, compasses, and microphones with proprietary algorithms and firmware that intelligently process, synthesize, and calibrate the output of sensors, maximizing performance and accuracy.  InvenSense’s motion tracking, audio and location platforms, and services can be found in many of the world’s largest and most iconic brands including smartphones, tablets, wearables, drones, gaming devices, internet of things, automotive products, and remote controls for smart TVs.

InvenSense is headquartered in San Jose, CA, and has offices in Boston, China, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, France, Canada, Slovakia, and Italy. We’re looking for top-notch innovators to join our global team. If you’re interested in being a part of our journey and helping us grow to become the leading provider of SoC platform solutions, we definitely want to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

·        Develop and implement novel reliability tests, based on Physics of Failure, for MEMS based sensors, including developing proprietary MEMS reliability test methodologies. Develop models to predict device failure rates and lifetime.

·        Perform reliability testing and conduct statistical data analysis based on company product life cycle model, which includes product design validation, product qualification, and production launch, for the consumer sensor products.

·        Conduct risk assessment of new products from the early design stage to volume production.

·        Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, process, and failure analysis to understand sensor failure mechanisms and recommend corrective actions to improve quality standards and best practices.

·        Support customer engagement and drive resolution of customer quality issues.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

·        Pursuing degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Device Physics, Materials Science, or similar subject.

·        Understanding of Reliability Physics and Materials Properties (thermal, electrical, mechanical, chemical), especially those related to MEMS and semiconductor devices.

·        Hands-on experience in laboratory settings.

·        Familiarity with statistical approach to problem solving.

·        Problem solving skills and ability to summarize/document analysis and test procedures.

·        Ability to work as a proactive team member and in autonomy.

·        Ability to communicate issues to executives on a routine basis.

Preferred Qualifications

·        Knowledge of IC and board level qualification per JEDEC standards. Experience in knowledge or application-based qualification is a plus.

·        Fundamental understanding of semiconductor/MEMS failure analysis techniques. Demonstrated ability to identify the root cause of reliability failures by selecting the right analytic approaches.

·        CMOS device/circuits background from a reliability perspective will be a plus.

·        Familiarity with electrical test and measurement techniques using equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeter and reference accelerometers.
