Summary:

As a Consumer Insights Manager with King’s Hawaiian, you’ll play an integral role in helping us build and elevate the insights team for a beloved consumer brand. This is a unique and exciting opportunity for someone interested in making the switch from supplier to client-side or looking to continue their insights career in the CPG industry.

 

You will get to work on very beloved, trusted, and irresistible brands, and get to influence the org at a pivotal time where King’s Hawaiian is putting consumers and brand experiences at the heart of winning in market. The Consumer Insights Manager is a role central to one of our core pillars, Gaining and Utilizing an Obsessive Understanding of our Consumers, and leveraging consumer insights to influence our brand strategies and activations.  He/she will serve as a key influencer of driving action-oriented research and generating insights that help drive the business forward.

The Consumer Insights Manager position will report into the Director of Consumer Insights to help support various research and business needs. You will work closely and collaborate with marketing and other departments as appropriate to understand their challenges and priorities. This individual should be comfortable working with and synthesizing various types of data (secondary and primary) and presenting their findings to the team.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity and able to manage through change , open to learning and trying new research techniques, and thrives working in a fast-paced environment.

Job Requirements:

  • Help shape the learning agenda in partnership with the Director of Consumer Insights.
  • Assist in development and execution of research plans, leveraging a mix of traditional and non-traditional research methodologies.
  • Work with a wide variety of quantitative (Packaging, Ad Testing, Brand Health, A&Us) and Qualitative (e.g., Focus Groups, Ethnographies/1:1s) research and syndicated data (e.g., POS and Panel data)
  • Manage research initiatives for Kings Hawaiian’s online consumer community; activities will range from developing surveys and discussion guides, activities, and presenting findings to the marketing team.
  • Consistently balance multiple projects and ability to drive prioritization in a resource constrained environment
  • Effectively manage the consumer insights budget to proactively address both immediate and forward-looking strategic needs
  • Represent the voice of the consumer and ensure consumer insights are integrated into decision making and embedded in the organization 
  • Potential people leader responsibilities 

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Decision Science, Economics, Marketing Research, Behavioral Psychology or Social Sciences 
  • 5+ years of qualitative and quantitative market research experience in a business to consumer environment; ideally CPG

Preferred skills and experiences:

  • Experience with Client-side Consumer and/or Shopper Insights or a Client facing role as a market research supplier
  • Autonomously execute work without "how to" directions
  • Experience with primary and secondary research, syndicated research, qual and quant research, and unstructured data
  • Connect multiple data points into a compelling and actionable story; one that connects his/her to overall business strategy/outcomes
  • Self-prioritize and deliver against competing concurrent projects
