National Gypsum Services Company has an immediate opening for a Manager, Project Management at our Charlotte, NC location.  This position will report to the Director of Engineering.

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for the development and execution of capital projects. The position will involve projects in their full scope from initial estimating, proposal submission, construction, and start-up. The position will also be available to assist manufacturing plants with process optimization, productivity improvements, safety and quality projects.

 

Major Job Responsibilities (not all inclusive):

  • A major focus will be on manufacturing process improvement projects including productivity and technology improvements. They will include large scale industrial projects.
  • Provide engineering leadership and support to project teams
  • Guide other engineers to achieve project objectives
  • Develop project scopes; estimate equipment, installations, and engineering costs and prepare project schedules for Appropriation Requests
  • Complete all project assignments within established scope, budget, and schedule
  • Maintain a high level of awareness of wallboard and paper manufacturing process capabilities to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings

 

Qualifications:

  • BS in Engineering, with a minimum of 10 years relevant experience
  • Computer skills – Microsoft Office, AutoCAD & PLC experience a plus
  • Willingness and ability to travel to industrial plant locations
  • Experience in wallboard or equivalent manufacturing plant and process
  • Engineering design experience
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification a plus
  • Ability to plan, coordinate and drive a project from start to finish
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and manage time effectively
  • Excellent communication skills, effectively interact with cross functional internal groups, outside vendors, and contractors
  • High level of integrity
  • Ability to work in a team environment
