FuseFX has an opening in Los Angeles! We have opportunities at our studio for an experienced and talented Virtual Production Pipeline Developer with a background in television/Feature film VFX and/or Gaming to join our Development team. The primary focus of this position is to help expand and reimagine the global FuseFX Pipeline. 

FuseFX is an award-winning Visual Effects Studio providing visual effects services for episodic television, feature films, commercials, virtual productions, and VR. Founded in 2006, the company employs 1200+ personnel across ten studio locations and three brands. Our flagship studio is in Los Angeles, CA, with locations in New York City, Vancouver, BC., and Atlanta. Our Montreal, Toronto, and Bogota studios are serviced by FOLKS VFX, who joined FuseFX in 2020. The Adelaide, Australia studio is serviced by Rising Sun Pictures, who joined FuseFX in 2021.

Our vision of a global pipeline needs developers excited to use industry-standard pipeline tools and practices and eager to bridge their skills into new territories using web services. We are actively reimagining our global pipeline. As a result, we are building a next-generation event-driven pipeline using ephemerally deployed services that can scale to meet our growing production demands. We aim to deliver highly available and performant services to our production tracking, asset management, and business intelligence platforms. A high level of technical knowledge combined with a creative sensibility is critical.


  • Develop internal software and pipeline tools to service core global VFX pipeline with a strong focus on virtual production and real time render engines.
  • Providing leadership and guidance to junior TD’s, helping them grow as developers while they assist productions with tools and deadlines. 
  • Rise to the opportunity to resolve high-level issues with the pipeline and be the first person to troubleshoot and resolve.
  • Collaboration with stakeholders to advise and determine the best solutions then deliver based on documented and agreed-upon requirements.
  • Flexible and agile to change and eager to force correct to meet project and facility needs.
  • Excited to mentor and train employees on new tools while supporting and maintaining current tools.
  • Communicate eloquently and effectively with the global pipeline team, management, and end-users to determine the best solutions.

Programming Skills/Languages

  • 4+ years experience using Unreal development tools
  • A background in real time rendering for Virtual Production / Game / VFX / Interactive / VR development
  • Experience software development using Unity, Omniverse, Python, PySide, PyQt, Object-Oriented, and C++
  • Experience developing tools for production tracking management systems like Shotgun, FileMaker, MySQL databases.  Experience using Shotgun Toolkit is a plus.
  • Experience with version control and packaging systems like Git, Perforce and Rez
  • Experience developing tools for traditional content packages like Maya, Houdini, and Nuke
  • Writing clear documentation for tools and scripts (technical and user documentation)

Familiar With:

  • Experience in VFX Workflows and Game Engine Pipelines preferred.
  • Proficient with VFX-centric software APIs in Unreal, Nuke, Maya, and Shotgun is a plus.
  • Interested in cloud services (AWS Lambda, Serverless, SQS, Event Bridge)
  • Web stack development using React and JavaScript
