FuseFX Vancouver is currently searching for an Information Technology Manager to join our team. The primary focus of this position is the direction and management of the technology department, including escalation support and oversight of all technology-related tasks.
FuseFX is an award-winning Visual Effects Studio providing visual effects services for episodic television, feature films, commercials, virtual productions, and VR. Founded in 2006, the company employs 800+ personnel across eight studio locations and three brands. Our flagship studio is in Los Angeles, CA, with locations in New York City, Vancouver, BC., and Atlanta. Our Montreal, Toronto, and Bogota studios are serviced by FOLKS VFX, who joined FuseFX in 2020. The Adelaide, Australia studio is serviced by Rising Sun Pictures, who joined FuseFX in 2021.
Responsibilities:
Project Management – 20%
Participate in strategic planning and implementation of new technology
Evaluate and integrate hardware, software, and workflow upgrades
Lead documentation and change management efforts
Team Management – 40%
Manage employee schedules, ensure coverage is adequate for production needs
Act as primary liaison for production management
Oversee internal ticketing system and make assignments to employees, review performed work.
Make recommendations on staffing needs, evaluate and review people within department
Train and develop team members encouraging acquisition of new skills.
Escalation & Support – 30%
Provide coordination and support for technology team
Assist and resolve support issues as required
Gather and deliver concise problem solving to infrastructure team to assist with advanced diagnostics
Security – 10%
Contribute to best practices/policies
Oversee implementation of internal policies
Backup / Disaster Recovery planning and testing
Requirements:
Technical Knowledge
Virtualization and Backup (VMWare Vsphere, Veeam)
High performance storage systems Qumulo, Isilon, StorNext
Knowledge and configuration experience of Networking (Ruckus, Extreme, Arista, Commscope, Mellanox) and Firewall devices (Palo Alto, Watchguard)
Scripting/automation Python a plus
Experience
Implementing fast and secure networks.
Supporting 2D and 3D artists / applications, Nuke and Maya a plus
Troubleshooting and integration of multiplatform OS environments (Windows / OSX / Linux)
AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification a plus
Data center design, project management, vendor, and contractor supervision experience
Qualifications:
Minimum 7 years’ experience in an enterprise system engineering environment
Positive can-do attitude combined with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
Excellent communication and organizational skill with strong attention to detail
