The Urban One story began 40 years ago with one radio station and is now a mutimedia powerhouse with 60+ radio stations in 13 markets (Radio One), nationally syndicated radio personality networks (Reach Media), national cable television networks (TV One/CLEO TV), and digital, social, mobile brands (iOne Digital).

LOCATION: NEW YORK, NEW YORK OR REMOTE

As the Vice President, Cross-Platform Client Services for One Solution, the cross-platform sales and marketing department of Urban One, you will be on the front lines and serve as the primary point of contact to top-tier clients, as well secure new high-level client and agency relationships. This high-profile and key role represents a unique opportunity to work across all platforms under the Urban One portfolio while having a direct impact on the company’s success with top-tier clients. This role will be charged with successfully managing, growing, and developing long-term cross-platform accounts with top-tier clients and agency partners at all levels. This is a consultative position in which strategic thinking, creativity, collaboration, and flexibility are required to find optimal solutions.


KEY RESPONSIBILITES: 

•  Identify, understand, clearly communicate and socialize client needs, budgets, KPI’s, issues, objectives, etc. to internal U1 stakeholders, including on-time delivery of assets
•  Proactively provide insights, strategic direction, and guidance to key clients and senior agency partners  
•  Work closely and cross-functionally with the One Solution team and sales leadership at all U1 divisions to develop and sell-through tent poles, programs, ideas, strategies, and solutions leveraging U1 assets that meet key client objectives
•  Regularly engage with senior level client contacts and agency partners, delivering a continuous flow of business-building insights and ideas
•  Develop, cultivate, and grow harmonious client relationships to ensure a high level of trust, satisfaction and positive experiences
•  Take leadership on client satisfaction and influencing products, solutions and communication to strengthen relationships and drive U1 revenue growth
•  Quickly and efficiently resolve any client concerns or conflicts that may arise
•  Serve as a liaison between identified top-tier clients and various internal key stakeholders to ensure client and business needs are being met
•  Uncover opportunities and grow business through strategic leadership, client expertise and consistent quality delivery of good work and execution
•  Assist in new business development and client procurement 
•  Engage in forward thinking, thought leadership and preparation to ensure One Solution is always “one step ahead” in maximizing revenue opportunities, planning, and deliverables
•  Share best practices regularly and work with key internal leadership to modify processes as needed to enhance the client experience
•   Understand and embrace the challenges of the constantly shifting media and advertising landscape, and proactively help strategize around how we should respond and react with new ideas, new thinking, and new approaches to better serve our most valuable clients

•   Attend and lead client presentations as needed
•   Lead the team by example – via work intensity, strong command of the product and the advertising/marketing process
•   Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
•   Comply with Network and Urban One’s mandatory trainings and adhere to related course deadlines

• Deep curiosity and knowledge of urban culture, media, and technology

•  Previous success working with a broad spectrum of established and prospective direct clients and their agencies
•  Positive energy, enthusiasm, charisma, solutions-oriented and success-driven attitude
•  Proactive, industrious, and driven

• Fluency in recent news, pop-culture, trade publications, competitive landscape, trends, and business conversations with the ability to translate that knowledge into actionable linkages directly connected to day-to-day work


EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:

•  Bachelor’s degree, at a minimum, in a related field
•  Minimum 10 years of relevant experience at a media, advertising, or related organization/agency in a strategic client-facing capacity
•  A track record of performance excellence meeting targets and objectives
•  Must be proficient in Google Suite and Microsoft Office (specifically Google shared docs, Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
• Multi-cultural marketing/communications experience a plus
